| On November 21, 2002 Commander Vinny "Crash" Rigo of Sandy Coor VFW Post 1433 in Glendale, Arizona, presented a special recognition award to Greg Mummaw on the day of his Eagle Court of Honor. "Saving the desert one life at a time", was Greg's Eagle Project which benefited Southwest Rehabilitation and Educational Foundation in Scottsdale. This is a non-profit organization that specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife native to Arizona. After fund raisers, many workdays, 300 hours, and $1,000 later, eight Javelina Motels were made for shelters and delivered on April 6 of 2002. Mr. John McTeran is Greg's scoutmaster.
